Nova Scotia College of Art and Design Pens
In 2010, a number of buildings that contained part of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) were demolished to make room for new buildings. We were fortunate to obtain a railing and banisters from the stairwell in the Lismer Building. The picture below shows me holding the oak handrail, which had been varnished in a rich brown. The two pens that I designed were made out of the oak coloured wood from the banister and a contrasting darker brown Nova Scotia walnut. The Presidential Pen is a medium sized ballpoint with a spring-loaded clip. The Artist Sketch Pencil has a graphite lead in it for easy sketching. These would make wonderful gifts for NSCAD students or alumni!
I can make other styles of pens for you out of this wood. Pick a style that pleases you and e-mail me at info@scotianpens.com or call me at 902-443-5087 in Halifax
